Her Heart is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Patricia Davidson as new Chair of the Board, effective immediately.
Professor Davidson is an internationally renowned leader in nursing, healthcare, and advocacy. She currently serves as a Vice Chancellor’s Fellow at the University of New South Wales. Prior to this, she held the position of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Wollongong from 2021 to 2024, and before that, served as Dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in Baltimore, United States. With a distinguished career spanning decades, Professor Davidson brings invaluable expertise in person-centred care and improving cardiovascular health outcomes for women and priority populations, cardiovascular nursing, and addressing the broader social determinants of health – issues that sit at the centre of Her Heart’s mission to improve outcomes for women affected by cardiovascular disease.
Professor Davidson said of her appointment:
“It is an honour to take on the role of Chair at Her Heart, an organisation that continues to lead the way in addressing the inequities women face in cardiovascular health. I have long admired Her Heart’s unwavering commitment to advocacy, education, and research. Together, I believe we can continue to shift the narrative around women and heart disease and drive real, lasting change.”
Her Heart’s Founder and Director, Professor Linda Worrall-Carter, warmly welcomed the appointment stating:
