Our Thanks

Her Heart would like to extend their thanks to all involved in organising, participating, sponsoring and donating to the a2Milk Upstream Challenge on 10 November this year.

It was a lovely day spent walking along the Yarra for a good cause, and a fitting occasion to celebrate personal achievement of those completing the 20- or 50-km course.

With fundraising totals still be finalised, please visit the Upstream Foundation website to see the preliminary results of the Challenge!

Thanking Our Supporters

Primary Supporter

Warrandyte Community Bank

The Warrandyte Community Bank® Branch’s commitment to “community” is pretty powerful.  It is highlighted in the everyday goodness of their Community Investment Program, which is the return of up to 80% of the Warrandyte Community Bank® Branch’s profit directly going to around 60 groups within the local community.

It is seen in their commitment to the funding of life-saving Automatic External Defibrillators, of which 7 are ready to be installed shortly.

It is about supporting infrastructure, resources, the arts, the environment, schools and kinders, wellness programs, health and fitness, and more.

2018 a2Milk Upstream Challenge!

The a2Milk Upstream Challenge is a 20- or 50km walk (or run!) from the hustle of Melbourne CBD, through Kew, Heidelberg and Westerfolds Park along the beautiful Yarra River,  concluding in leafy Donvale.

We would love to rally as many female participants as possible!

No fitness level is needed, and there is no time limit to complete the Challenge, so you can take your time along the way! All you need is your active wear, a group of women to share the journey with, and a desire to create change in women’s heart health.

You can enter as an individual or a team, and in doing so, will raise funds to support Her Heart educating and advocating women of the world’s biggest killer  – heart disease.

Read more about it on the Upstream Foundation Website, or head straight to register, and ensure that Her Heart is your beneficiary of choice!

Important Info

  • The course is 50km or 20km. The 50km option begins a Gosch’s Paddock in Richmond, and the 20km option at Yarra Flats, Ivanhoe.
  • The course finishes at Donvale Christian College. For more detailed information on the course, head to the Upstream website.
  • The full course is relatively flat, so you do not need to be a marathon runner or mountain climber to participate! There will be participants of all ages and fitness levels involved.
  • There are several checkpoints along the way with helpers, refreshments and rest areas. You don’t have to complete the entire course in one go – take your time, and make a day out of it!
  • At the finish of the course, there will be a BBQ, a physio, a masseuse, first aid and the beneficiaries to celebrate the day!
  • The Upstream Foundation will be providing a Courtesy Bus, which will loop every half hour between Donvale Christian College, Nunawading Station, and Yarra Flats. If you need more detailed information for transport arrangements, please contact us.
  • To register, follow our Registration Guide (download the PDF below). You can register as an individual, or as a group! If you do have any troubles whatsoever, please email us at [email protected] and we will help you out.
  • Each participant commits to raise $200 in donations, $50 of which will need to be donated when registering. All donations go straight to Her Heart, and are tax deductible.
