Cassandra Kelly, AM

Board Member & Chair: Cassandra is a recognised leader of multi-national businesses and an entrepreneur, both in the financial services and technology sectors, where she has co-founded Pottinger, Pottinger Analytics and Atomli.  Commencing in 1999, she worked on behalf of Deutsche Bank to accelerate and co-invest in fintech companies such as Market Axess and Tradeweb.

She is a known strategist and coach to corporate and political leaders throughout the world and has lived and worked in most of the world’s continents. Pottinger, an influential and respected financial services company, received, under her leadership, the ABA’s “Recommended Employer” award for seven years in a row. It was also featured by the Australian Government’s Productivity Agency as one of the 10 national benchmarks for skill utilisation and productivity.

She is an advisor to the G20/B20 process focused on digitalisation and entrepreneurship, having previously contributed to financing growth and infrastructure. She is also a member of the G20/B20 Health Initiative. Cassandra’s is known for her cut-through, integrity and obsession with impact and is invited regularly to speak to leaders around the world, activating them to make better decisions and inspiring daring leadership.

Cassandra’s determination to challenge the status quo and her commitment to philanthropy and human rights have earned her recognition both in Australia and overseas. The Australian Financial Review named her one of the ten most influential women in the boardroom at the 100 Women of Influence Awards, the Audi InStyle Businesswoman of the Year was awarded to her in 2015 and most recently, she was acknowledged as one of 12 directors to watch in the North American journal Directors & Boards and in 2017 was named a Top 10 Australian Chair.

Cassandra was recently awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

A passionate advocate for helping women connect across industries and countries, from both public and private sectors, she founded the diversity initiative, The Glass Elevator. She has personally made positive contributions forwarding the careers of hundreds of senior executives in Australia. She continues her work overseas.

Cassandra holds several directorships: she is Chair of Atomli, Chair of Fulcrum, Chair of Treasury Corporation of Victoria, a Director at the Resolution Project, and a director for Her Heart lending her time to causes seeking to raise awareness and improve health options and outcomes for millions. She is on the Advisory Council of the Brookings Institution’s Center for Universal Education as well as a member of The Federal Treasury of Australia’s Inclusive Workplace Committee. Cassandra serves on the Leadership Council for MS Australia.

Previous directorships include Allpress Espresso International, Flight Centre Travel Group, Starlight Children’s Foundation, the University of New South Wales Foundation and Children’s Cancer Institute Australia. She served as Vice President of Women in Banking and Finance.

Cassandra is a graduate of the University of Sydney with a focus on Economics, Finance and Commercial Law. Her honours year focused on the economics of developing nations.

She lives in New York City with her family.
